A Silent sweep seconds hand (no ticking) effortlessly moves around the dial which is protected by a glass lens. The fully illuminated back dial turns on and off automatically depending on the amount of light in the room. Clock uses 1 AA battery, and 3 AA batteries power the back light (not included).
